181 We have before the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury your Letter of the 21st Inst. with enclosure, relating to Drainage at Hong Kong; I have it in command to request that You state to Lord Chetwynd that My Lords do not object to the Arrangements reported by Sir Henry Pottinger for the supervision and clearance of the Public Drains in the Town of Victoria in that Colony, subject to the Revision they will doubtless undergo when the regular establishments of the Executive Police and of the Department of the Surveyor General for the Administration of Lands Roads and Public Works are formed.
